My name is Kealan van Dort, you might've heard of me from the 2020 olympics drug scandal. You might know me but you don't know my story, let's start from the begin. I was a prodigy for running, probably the best to come in centuries. I would train everyday until I was drowning in sweat. I would run faster than a horse. When the sun was glaring down, I would be training. When it was showering outside, I would be training. Everyday I could smell victory until it would be my time to shine. I would be dreaming about the olympics everyday. I didn't care about school, because who needs education when you can earn millions in sports. Eventually the year came, the year of Kealan, I wasn't wrong but it wasn't the way I hoped the year would be.
I was finally old enough to participate and would be in the 100m run. I was already sweating before I went in the arena. The changing room felt different, and the clothes gave a sense of pride. I stepped outside, I didn't hear the usual crunching leaf when I step outside of my house but I heard my shoe stepping on the ground. It was a beautiful day with a fresh smell of summer and the sun giving its warmth to everyone. I went in my position to run, surrounded these athletes who were maybe even better then me. I was hoping we would start quicker because every second longer and the finish line would move further away by a few meters. Then the sound of the gun erupted around us and it was time to go. I set off, quicker than before, I could feel the wind pushing my face and I passed one, then two, then three and before I knew it I finished the race in a record breaking time of 8.79 seconds. The fans around us became alive and started shouting, but I felt numb, numb on the drug of victory.
I was taken into the drug testing room with one of the racer. I wasn't worried because I had nothing to hide but my competition was sweating like crazy and his facial expression changed every second, worry, shame, pain and the worst of all disgrace. He must've taken drugs I thought but I was surprised, shocked and dizzy when the results came in and he passed but I failed. Then I realized that there must've been a mix up because he was grinning from ear to ear but no one would listen to me. I was sent home in disgrace, my friends left me, not for glory but for taking the drugs. My family wouldn't support me anymore and no job would take me in for lack of education and drug use. Nobody watched the olympics anymore, sports channels were giving it bad press. Olympic fans hated me. I ruined the olympics for them and my life. So now you know my story.
