G9 Reflection Name:Kealan
1. IB Learner Profile. Identify what IB Learner you are now. Then, identify and explain what IB learner you should be in Grade 10.
For the IB Learner Profile I am caring, open minded, thinker and risk-taker. For grade ten I should be knowledgeable because of the upcoming IGCSE’s. I should also become a inquirer, because asking questions will help me understand subjects more.
2. What areas of English did you do well in? (Speaking, reading, writing, listening etc.)
For English I do very well in reading, because I enjoy reading and I finish a nice amount of books every year, and they are big books as well. For speaking, I can be good in speaking but I rush it sometimes and for listening I usually forget what was told later.
3. What were your biggest challenges? (writing, research, reading, studying, tests) Explain why.
My biggest challenge is writing because I am very bad in writing descriptive essays and I never do good because I don’t know what to write for them. Sometimes I study very well but on the weekends I find it very hard to study where as on the weekdays, I can do it with ease unless I am tired.
4. Write down three ways that you can improve your academic skills for this course. (Studying, reading more, organisation)
I need to study more on the weekends, instead of only on the weekdays. I also need to read better book because I do read a lot of books, but they are more books for teenagers, for fun instead of also helping us learn how to write.
5. Set 3 achievable (realistic goals) for Grade 10. Explain how you will achieve these goals and identify the steps you will need to take.
I want to read 2 good English books to help my writing in the near future.
I am going to slow down my speaking so that I am more understandable.
I also want to continue speaking English in my new school, so my English doesn’t drop.
