Information
In the summer and Winter olympics combined there have only been 6 non doping olympics. 5 in the Winter olympics and 1 in the Summer Olympics. These are the games in Summer from 2012-1968 and in Winter from 2014-1968. So in the winter and summer Olympics combined there have been 24 olympics and only 6 dope free. Every year there have been many drug test to make sure no one was cheating and getting the underserved gold medal. In the summer olympics there have been in total 114 doping cases reported and in winter only 22 cases reported. The good news is that there have been 114 cases in 26,900 drug tests and 22 cases in 7,783. That is a total of 136 doping cases reported in both Olympics. The country that has the most doping cases is Austria with a number of 10 while there are 27 teams that have been caught once. One of the most famous doping cases in the olympics is Ben Johnson the Canadian doing the 100m sprint and breaking the record with 9.79. He got sent home from Seoul Olympics in disgrace and has been from his gold medal. He got taken for the drug test and he tested positive for a banned steroid that goes by the name of Stanozol. Doping is not only happening in the olympics, currently in tennis Maria Sharapova has been tested positive for taking a banned drug that helps her against her family issue of heats diseases and diabetes. It is still unknown if she has been using these for medical reasons or for the performance enhancement. The most famous drug scandal of all time is world famous cyclist Lance Armstrong. The best cyclist ever winning 7 consecutive tour de France titles, all to only be taken away because of the use of drugs. This shows that not only the olympics is in crisis of doping but most of the sports also use performance enhancing drugs except that the Olympics has the most making it a bigger issue.

When a athlete of any kind of sport is found guilty of using drugs any kinds of social media platforms go crazy about how they could do this. Twitter is the platform used most when it comes to this by them tweeting the athlete about "How could they do this", "How could you let us down" and of course some people defending them. Most of these messages are negative because their inspiration, idol has been caught cheating so that their fans most be furious and feel betrayed.
